Communities, Climate and the Reef

Welcome to the site of the Reef Futures project at the University of Queensland

2022-2024

This research project aims to understand how communities along the Great Barrier Reef are affected by, and responding to, a changing climate and environment.

COMMUNITY DiscussionS

We’ll be conducting a series of community discussions as part of this research. Discussions will be open to all Great Barrier Reef residents over the age of 18, and will be held across all regions in the Reef, progressively over three years. Topics will include environmental and social changes that you’ve seen happen in your region, and how you, and your local community are responding to these changes.

Community discussions will be advertised here, as they are scheduled. It is really important that we hear from people of all ages about the future of your region. We hope you can attend a discussion group close to you! Register for updates, or check the list below.

When can I get involved?

Check back for more updates, as discussion groups are scheduled.
